Three things I do on every job, whatever the job is.

The cable goes inside the wall.

In behind the camera base, down through the cavity, out next to the recorder. From the street you see a camera and nothing else. It takes longer than clipping a white cable down the stone. I do it anyway.

How the cable route works

I measure before the drill comes out.

One hole per camera, on the mortar line where I can, in the spot the base will cover. Your wall is the bit you keep. I’d rather spend five minutes with a tape than fill a hole nobody should have made.

I set the app up and show you round it.

Live view, playback, alerts, who gets notified. It all gets set up on your phone while I’m stood there, and I go through it with you until you’re happy. I don’t leave until it’s working on your phone.

The same makes, fitted over and over.

I fit the same kit all the time, on purpose. It means I know which camera suits which wall, how the recorder wants setting up, and what to tell you the app will and won’t do.
