The recorder lives somewhere out of the way. That is where the socket goes.

Floodlights and outdoor power, through the wall in one hole.

A floodlight is the electrical job I get asked for most. It goes up the same way my cameras do: one hole, measured first, through the cavity, out where the light sits. The cable is inside the wall and the hole is behind the fitting. Nothing clipped down the brickwork.

The camera and the floodlight want to be in the same conversation. A light on the drive or the yard means the camera sees more at night, and so do you. If I am fitting both, they go up on the same visit.

An outdoor socket gets the same treatment, and is handy for the pressure washer and the Christmas lights.

Questions I get asked

Do you do electrical work that is not on the list?
Ring and ask. The list is the work that comes up on nearly every security job. If what you need is something else, I will tell you on the phone whether it is one for me.
Can you fit a floodlight?
Yes. It is the electrical job I get asked for most, usually alongside cameras. The cable goes through the wall behind the light, the same as a camera cable, so there is nothing clipped down the brickwork. A floodlight on the drive or the yard means the camera sees more at night, and so do you.
Can you fit a socket for my CCTV recorder?
Yes. The recorder needs a supply wherever it lives, which is often a loft, a cupboard or under the stairs where there is nothing to plug into. I put one in as part of the CCTV job so the recorder is not trailing a lead across the landing.
Can you put power outside for an electric gate or an outdoor light?
Yes. A gate motor and an intercom need power at the gate, and an outdoor light or an outdoor socket needs a supply on the outside of the wall. I run that the same way I run camera cable, through the wall in one hole, and I do it as part of the gate or camera job.
