Who I am
This site belongs to Security By Mitu, a security installer based in Bradford,West Yorkshire. I’m the data controller for anything you give me through this site or on the phone.

What I collect
Only what I need to ring you back and price a job. In practice that is:
- You ring
- Your phone number and whatever you tell me about the property and the job. If you leave a message, the message.
- Quote page
- When the online quote form goes live: your name, phone number, email if you give one, postcode, your answers about the property and cameras, any notes, and the figure the page showed you. It is emailed to me.
- A visit
- Notes on the property, where the cameras and cable runs go, and photos of the walls if I take any. That is the job record.
- Just browsing
- Nothing that identifies you. See the cookies section for what the site itself does.
Why, and on what basis
I use your details to answer your enquiry, ring you back, quote the job and, if you go ahead, do the work and look after the system afterwards. Under UK GDPR that is the “steps before a contract” and “performance of a contract” basis. Keeping a record of a job I have done is my legitimate interest, so I can help if something goes wrong later.
I don’t use your details for marketing and I don’t add you to a mailing list.
How long I keep it
If you enquire and we don’t go ahead, I delete your details once the enquiry is clearly finished. If I fit a system for you, I keep the job record for as long as I need it to look after the system and for my tax records, then delete it.

Who sees it
Me. Your details are not sold or shared for marketing. Two kinds of company handle data on my behalf and only on my instructions: the company that hosts this website, and, once the quote form is live, the email service that delivers your answers to me. Both may keep standard server logs, which include your IP address, for a short period for security.
I would only hand details to anyone else if the law required it, for example a court order.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask me to:
- tell you what details I hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your details;
- stop using them, or limit how I use them;
- give you the details you provided in a form you can pass to someone else.
Ring me on 07540 049136 to ask for any of these. I’ll answer within a month. If I need to check it’s you before handing anything over, I will.
Complaints
If you think I’ve handled your details badly, ring me first and I’ll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator, atico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
If what the site does changes, so does this page. The date at the top is the date of the last change. Anything else you want to know, ring me or use thequote page.
