This is what I mean when I say zero cables on show. The camera sits under the eaves. The cable goes in behind its base, drops through the cavity between the outer and inner wall, and comes out indoors by the recorder. Look at the brick from the street and there’s nothing to see.

The order matters. Measure first, from the door frame and the course of bricks, so the hole lands where the camera base will cover it. Drill once. Feed the cable. Fit the camera over the top. Anything drilled in the wrong place stays wrong for as long as the house stands, so I take my time with the tape.
