What went in, and why.
This is the best time to get me in. The walls are open, the joists are bare, and every cable the house will ever need for CCTV, the alarm, the network, Sky and fibre can go in now and disappear behind the plaster.
On a finished house I have to find a route. On a first fix I just pick one. Each cable comes back to one spot so whatever gets fitted later, camera, sensor, access point or a TV in the back bedroom, the cable is already waiting behind a blank plate.
If you’re building or doing a big renovation, ring me before the plasterer is booked. After that it costs more and looks worse.

Questions I get asked
- What is first fix for CCTV and networking?
- The cabling that goes in while the walls are open, before plasterboard. CCTV, alarm, network, Sky and fibre cables all run then, so the finished house has nothing on show.
- When should I book the first fix?
- Before the plasterer. Once the boards are on, every cable needs a route finding and a wall opening up. Ring me as soon as the frame is up.
- Do you work with builders?
- Yes. I come to site while the frame is open and run what is needed. The cameras, sensors and access points go on once the plaster is done.
